Can high prices be justified for some office chairs?

An interesting point about office chairs is that, when purchased online, the price range for an executive office chair can be anywhere from 50 to 500 pounds. What makes the difference in these different ranges of chairs? There are of course certain basic amenities built into chairs that establish a base price. These are double shell construction, adjustable arm rests and more expensive textiles use for seat facings. But do these amenities justify a tenfold increase? Usually not, most expensive office chairs have in their price included special design features such as double shell construction and the use of molded foam. The same chairs often shun the traditional high grade leather textile in favor of modern ultra durable plastics.
